Dinesh D’Souza is a somewhat controversial writer. Being a conservative does not make you friends in Academia, and it certainly hasn’t for Mr. D’Souza. He first caught wide public attention in 2012 for the documentary “Obama 2016”, which was based on two of his books; one of the same name as the film, and the other on his 2011 book “The Roots of Obama’s Rage”. This is a review I did for his 2014 book “America: Imagine a World Without Her”, which had a film tie-in of the same name. Depending on who you ask this book would either fall into the category of “historical revisionism” or “historical apologetics.” I lean toward the latter but you should read it for yourself to decide.
Burton Folsom Jr. is an American Historian who’s focus is on economic history. In particular he likes to challange the publicly popular narratives of Marxist Historians by defending the history of Capitalism. A year ago I reviewed one of his more recent works “New Deal or Raw Deal: How FDR’s Economic Legacy Has Damaged America” on one of my YouTube Channels. So as we get closer to a new year (one in which I hope to be far more active on this website) I thought I would update you all with what I have been doing on YouTube.
In 1937 Winston Churchill began writing his seminal work of history on the English Speaking Peoples. This four volume series covers the Roman conquest of Britain up to 1900. The writing took over decade with the Second World War getting in the way, and finally being published between 1956 and 1958. It is a very Anglo-philic work, giving much praise to the “Anglo-Saxon Race.” I read these works towards the end of last year, and than earlier this year I filmed a review of this series on one of my YouTube Channels, GHBooks.
