Politics is a tricky thing to write about in any objective way. If you don’t do it carefully you are labeled a political hack. If you do it right than it is probably a stale read that won’t keep people’s attention. So it is a rare when you find a book that can manage to be both objective and interesting. Yuval Levin explains the roots of modern politics in the English Speaking World with Thomas Paine and Edmund Burke, forming the left-right divide.
